Cyrus Miller is a self-educated Lansing, Michigan area sculptor and three-dimensional designer working in a diverse range of media and disciplines. Working with concrete and steel reinforcing rods and employing a number of casting and carving techniques, he creates work, designing and developing interactive exhibits as an informal learning environment. This has become deeply important and interesting to him in how people learn and how they interact with objects and art, as well as how people interact with each other in the process. Cyrus’ work is influenced by his attraction to the ruins of the man-made and industrial environment; buildings of concrete and steel, aging steel structures, images of power and permanence falling into ruin then being reclaimed by natural forces.
