Kate M Kennedy, American Painter. Kate has been creating art since she was able to hold a paint brush. She began formal studies in painting and drawing at University when she was in 8th grade. In 1983, Kate received a Bachelors in Fine Art from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington. Kate is known for her ability to entice the viewer to lean forward, and experience the subtle drama. She hopes her eclectic subjects, and light infused compositions will create a moment of wonder for her viewers. She prefers her viewers find their own metaphors in her work and leaves the interpretation up to them. She loves a view of the water, and finds it inspires her creativity. She splits her time between her home studio on a tidal creek in Charleston, South Carolina, and a waterfront home in North Idaho. "Light and water inspire me as they change tone and hue with the seasons. There always seems to be something special about the light of spring and the renewal it brings. Its luminescence never fails to transform the ordinary into the magnificent." Kate M Kennedy Gallery and collector contacts welcome.
