After graduating in Fine Art, Catherine married Paul Day. Following a short period in England, the couple decided to move to France as Catherine has a French mother and had always wanted to live there. While bringing up their 2 children, Catherine Day turned to her 2nd passion, music, performing several amateur concerts in Burgundy as a solo soprano, accompanied by a piano, specializing in 19th century German and French composers as well as some earlier and later ones for good measure. Catherine Day occasionally helps her husband, sculptor, Paul Day, when he needs an extra pair of hands or a critic’s eye! But most importantly, in the last 5 years or so, Catherine has been back full-time with her own work, charcoal drawings and relief printing to begin with, which led to a show in Paris, and now painting. The Days live in a beautiful region where inspiration for a landscape painter is not difficult to find.
