David Hollier is an English artist living in Brooklyn, New York. David is an adjunct professor at Parsons The New School of Design and spends the rest of his time creating art. His unique series, Imago Verbosa, is created solely with written words, but ironically David struggled with reading and writing as a child. This series includes cultural influencers comprised of lyrics, speeches, statistics, and phrases and can be found in hotel lobbies, private collections, and the sides of buildings internationally. Artist statement about Imago Verbosa: "I originally began using text in my artwork in 2009. By 2012 I’d given the collection the name ‘Imago Verbosa’, meaning a picture made of words in Latin. The ever increasing collection includes images created on a vintage typewriter, murals, and also individual personal commission pieces."
