Chase Barrett is a contemporary fine art photographer whose work is characterized by its large-scale format and intimate portraits. Born in Anderson, South Carolina in 1994, Barrett moved to Charleston in 2013 to pursue his artistic education at The Art Institute of Charleston. However, his passion for independent exploration led him to leave the institution after a year to fully immerse himself in the art world. Barrett's career took a significant turn when he joined Mary Martin Gallery in 2014. The gallery's location on 103 Broad Street in Charleston provided him with a unique platform to connect with a diverse community of artists and sculptors. Over the past decade, Barrett has leveraged this opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States, encountering a wide range of creative talent and expanding his artistic horizons. Specializing in urban landscapes, Barrett's work often explores themes of identity, memory, and the human condition. His images are known for their technical mastery, as well as their ability to evoke emotion and introspection in the viewer. Through his photography, Barrett seeks to capture the essence of his subjects and create lasting impressions that resonate with audiences worldwide. Barrett's ongoing collaboration with Mary Martin Galleries has been instrumental in establishing his reputation as a rising star in the contemporary art scene. With a decade of experience under his belt, Barrett continues to push the boundaries of his craft and inspire others with his passion for photography. "It isn't every day that I come across a young person who has already made a mark in the art world. Chase knew from the minute he picked up a camera the effect he wanted to capture. I am impressed with his knowledge of color theory, his composition and his unerring eye. He is an amazing photographer."- Mary Martin
