"I’d like my work to slightly alter the chemistry of a room and give something to the viewer. I often utilize non-traditional materials to explore color, tone, and texture. The medium’s meticulous application brings vibrant stripes, intricate grids, shapes, and repeated patterns to life." Gian Garofalo was born in Chicago in 1972. He utilizes non-traditional materials to explore color, shape, and texture. Meticulously applied medium brings to life vibrant stripes, intricate grids, shapes, and repeated patterns. Intriguingly suspended paint droplets sometimes gravitate to the base, ultimately punctuating the work. These works often consist of a wide spectrum of colors where each individual stripe is an equally important and unique contribution to the piece as a whole. Garofalo has exhibited widely in the United States, including several noted art fairs in Miami, New York, Chicago and Houston, and his works have been acquired in various public and private collections.
