They share their sketches with each other and often compete to see who can best re-create the drawings in their own unique painting style. They spend countless hours in their studios together painting and brainstorming ideas. No Rozenvain painting is complete without explicit approval from each member of the family. This familial approach to painting ensures that every painting to leave the family studios is truly a masterpiece.Michael Rozenvain paints with thick oil paints with a wonderful array of colors on his palette in the impasto technique. He applies many layers of paint, thus creating the illusion of depth through his highly textured canvases. His use of palette reflections, combining several colors on the palette knife at once, are a highlight of his engaging works. His sense of composition, mastery of painting light, agile palette knife strokes, vibrant colors and passion for a wide array of subjects are all elements that make a Michael Rozenvain painting immediately recognizable.
