Theresa would be the first to tell you that she does not fit into a traditional role. She crafted her own education while studying early 20th Century contemporary artists, and abstract expressionism. A paintbrush warrior of sorts, she begins her paintings by energizing the surface to create a fresh approach. Color, mark making, and brush strokes with various tools are used as she creates an awareness of texture and good composition. In her next process of simplification, she moves between adding and removing layers of paint until she is satisfied. "The surface lends itself to my way of communicating life, the images I create are a personal interpretation of my energy."
