Eileen Corse began following her passion for painting 20 years ago and has accumulated quite a following for her bold paintings along her journey. Painting impasto and alla prima, Corse's paintings are alive with texture and movement. Her most recent series, Water, captures the essence of people at the beach or pool. "Think the pool paintings of David Hockney, done in a painterly, choppy and impressionistic style that harkens back to the impressionists. There’s something utterly contemporary about the bathing-suit-clad figures Eileen Corse paints.”- The Scout Guide Primarily a self-educated artist - and after only painting a year - Corse gained notoriety from a local fine art gallery and began exhibiting and selling her paintings. Two other galleries followed suit, including a juried selection to participate in Jacksonville’s premier emerging artists showcase, Art After Dark. Corse has been featured in many juried and group shows. Her work is published in articles by local newspapers and magazines as well as other national art publications such as American Art Collector, Plein Air Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine and Artist Advocate Magazine. Teaching others to paint has become a passion where she now enjoys classes of students and other emerging artists.
