Bryce Groark is an award-winning Creative Director, Producer and DP from Kona, Hawaii. For more than a decade, he's explored the world (working with National Geographic, ESPN, PBS, Discovery, Travel Channel, A&E, Red Bull +) as a freelance producer and cinematographer specializing in the marine environment. In 2004, he started Living Ocean Productions, on the Big Island of Hawaii, with the goal of bridging the gap between the scientific community and the general public. His work has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers, television networks and a myriad of international film festivals, museums and aquariums around the world. With more than 5,000 hours shooting underwater, Bryce has created meaningful and innovative programming covering issues in more than 50 countries. He recently completed four years of work on “Mission Blue” (about the legendary Dr. Sylvia Earle) and is currently in post-production with “Whale Like Me.” Sharks and whales are his passion. For years, his efforts and images have worked to showcase the issues surrounding these animals - all over the globe. In 2010, Bryce assisted in helping Hawaii become the safest place in the world for sharks, with the passing of SB2169 - a Bill which prohibits the possession, sale or trade of any shark fin products in the state of Hawaii. Bryce is also the Managing Director for Ocean Preservation Alliance and sits on the International Board of Directors for WildAid.
