Vincent Hron was born and raised in Omaha Nebraska. In 1984 he received a B.F.A. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and in 1987 an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.Upon graduation, he received a Graduate Scholarship to study for a year at the Statliche Akademi der Bilden den Kunst, in Karlsruhe, Germany.Following a year abroad he returned home to Omaha, and established a regular studio and exhibition practice. He was an adjunct faculty member at several area colleges, received numerous regional awards. In 1996 he accepted a position at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg Pennsylvania where he continues to paint, exhibit, and teach. He has exhibited nationally, and has received numerous grants and awards."In my work I have endeavored to imbue our daily experiences with heightened significance through a rigorous analysis of each subjects formal potential. My objective is to remedy our detachment from the routines of life by revealing their beauty and symbolic potential. To that end, I have brought historical iconographic traditions into a contemporary context to engage and question cultural assumptions about aesthetics, spirituality, and social responsibility." - Vince Hron
