José Luis Vásquez, was born in 1992 in a Zapotec indigenous community called San Pedro Mixtepec, in Oaxaca. His training as a plastic and visual artist was through the Benito Juárez Autonomous University of Oaxaca, and in 2017. Vásquez is a graphic creator dedicated mainly to block printing, using wood, linoleum, acrylic and MDF. Each of his works integrates cultural, personal, identity and social themes. He is currently an active member of the Gabinete Gráfico Oaxaca workshop and co-founder of the yù graphic workshop, Oaxaca. He has also participated in collaborations creating graphic portfolios with different groups and artists from the country.
