BiographyDarshana Patel is a mixed media artist specializing in ceramics, printmaking, and handcrafted jewelry. Through creating art that is functional and useful, she enhances the human experience by elevating everyday objects like the lowly bowl or simple vase to its utmost beauty. Her art is inspired by the organic forms and colors found in nature, often incorporating subtle symbolism representative of Ms. Patel’s childhood in her native India. After relocating to the United States, Darshana Patel completed her Masters in Art Education at New York University. At NYU she studied printmaking under the tutelage of internationally renowned master printmaker Krishna Reddy. The artist lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. Between working at Mesa Arts Center and raising her two beloved children, she finds time to go Hiking, practising Yoga and volunteering with several charitable organizations.
