Handler attended the University of Pennsylvania where she studied as a photographer. She established a professional practice in studio photography in 2001, while her personal work began to explore the language of abstraction. This continued exploration inspired a transition into painting. Handlere studied with Peter Golfonopoulos. She is currently studying under James Little. "Handler employs vibrant color and frenzied, gestural brushstrokes as a declaration of confidence and determination. Her layered compositions are built through the process of painting- embracing the accident and striving to create images that reflect the exhilaration and unbridled energy with which she moves through life."
