Rosemary Goodell was born in California. She studied at the Museum ofFine Arts School in Boston, U.C.L.A., and received her B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, inart and M.A. in Painting from University of California, Berkeley. In 2003 she wasawarded a visual artist fellowship from the Louisiana Division of the Arts. Shereceived Fulbright Memorial Fund Fellowship to study and travel in Japan in1998. Ms Goodell completed a painting fellowship at Skidmore College in 1996and a residency in painting at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont in2001 and 2008. She has been awarded two mini-grants from the LouisianaDivision of Arts (1998, 2000). Ms. Goodell received a Joan Mitchell grant in2016 and a fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center in 2017. Her paintings havebeen in multiple national and local shows. Her work has appeared on the coversof Country Roads, Merci and the Boston Museum School magazines as well asbeing pictured and reviewed in Orleans, Morning Advocate, Times Picayune andSchool Arts. Her work is included in private and public collections.
