Studied drawing and Painting at the Glasgow School of Art under William Armour and Mary Armour and David Donaldson. Awarded a Post Diploma and the major travelling scholarship and studied in Holland. Paris and London. In 1995 he won the Murray Thompson Award at the Royal Scottish Academy. In 1997 he won the Morrison Portrait Award at the Royal Scottish Academy. In 2001 he was elected to the Royal Scottish Watercolor Society (RSW). In 2004 he won the Winsor and Newton Award at the annual RSW Exhibition. His paintings and etchings, printed from his own press have been exhibited widely. His work is included in Public and private collections. His work is regularly shown at the Royal Scottish Academy, and the R.S.W., and frequently at the Glasgow Institute, and the Society of Scottish Artists. Entries on David Sinclair can He has an entry in the Who's Who in Art (2004) and the Dictionary of British Artists since 1945 (1998). His work is in numerous private and public collections.
