Work: NYHS owns two wax portraits of George Washington, signed by G. Rouse, 1797 Comments: Supposed modeler of wax portraits of George Washington, dated 1797. These are thought to be forgeries made in London about 1924. Groce & Wallace stated there was no reason to believe that there was ever an artist of this name.
