Le Ngoc Thanh and Le Duc Hai (the Le Brothers) are twin brothers born in Quang Binh province of Vietnam. After graduating from Hue Arts University in the mid-90s, they burst on the Hue art scene with bold interpretations of the traditional lacquer painting genre. The artists are now internationally exhibited painters, sculptors and performance artists. They have exhibited in galleries and museums in New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Bangkok, and Tokyo, among many other cities around the world. They have conducted painting workshops at MIT, Yale, and Columbia University in the US. Hai and Thanh also run an artist residency in their hometown of Hue, teach painting at local art schools and are actively involved in expanding the role of the arts in Vietnam.
