Abbie Lou Bosworth, a painter and etcher, was born in Elgin, Illinois on July 24, 1906. Also known as Mrs. Laidlaw Williams, she graduated from the Mount Holyoke College in New England. Shortly afterwards she entered the Boston Museum School of Art. She then studied at the Art Students League in New York City under Kenneth Hayes Miller.After moving to Carmel, California in the mid 1930's, she became active in the Carmel Art Association, having served on its Board of Directors. She specialized in landscapes of California, Nova Scotia, and Europe.Bosworth exhibited at the Art Students League in New York, The Santa Cruz Art League, Carmel Art Association, Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art, Golden Gate Exhibition in 1939, and the Pacific Grove Museum.
