American artist Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987) was one of the leaders of the Pop Art movement of the 1950s and 60s. He is known for his works exploring mass advertising, consumer products, and celebrity culture. He worked in a variety of artistic mediums, including silkscreen, photography, film, and sculpture. However, arguably his most recognizable works are his silkscreen paintings of Campbell’s soup cans. Warhol remains one of the most iconic figures in twentieth-century art history, and his works are held in private and museum collections around the world.
