Ann Patton draws on a lifetime shaped by ranching land and wide Texas skies to create water-color works that bristle with light, rhythm and a quietly indefinable energy. Her subject matter—horses, cattle, birds, family, the open landscape to the small beauties of our texas wildflowers—reflects a lived relationship with place and material. Using the inherent transparency and immediacy of water-color, she strives to evoke the moment of seeing and feeling what she did at the time of painting. Based in Bosque County and Summering near Cloudcroft, she continues to push the boundaries of what a small brush and open field can yield.
