SCULPTUREOREGON, USA Anna Sweet was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, above her mother’s art gallery, where she and her eight siblings were immersed in the art world from an early age. Surrounded by classical works and the business of restoring and selling Old Masters, Anna began questioning the value of art from a young age. At 12, she picked up her first camera and began photographing the women in her life, drawn to the expressive potential of modern mediums. This led to her first major body of work: underwater nudes, a dreamlike series blending photography and mixed media to explore the ethereal. After a decade and multiple sold-out editions, Anna turned her focus to new artistic frontiers. Inspired by the conceptual provocations of artists like Damien Hirst, Anna’s latest sculptural series poses the question: "What is art, and how do we consume it?" In response to Hirst’s highly commercialized Dot Paintings, Anna offers a playful critique of the modern art market—challenging its values while contributing a bold, original voice. Now based between Hawaii, Key West, and Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Anna continues to expand her creative practice. She is currently developing a new venture—Artist Block Wine—a boutique wine label in Dundee Hills that merges her artistic vision with branding and storytelling.
