The first woman and serigrapher ever selected as Master Artist for the Birds in Art Show at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Anne Faust is a painter and silk-screen artist of birds. Her husband is also a photographer of birds. In her silkscreens, she is known for her complex, dynamic patterns and shapes, and subtle colors. Senechal Faust creates her paintings using the screen-printing technique. She continuously reduced the number of templates without losing the characteristic 3D effect. Her favorite subjects are wild birds in their natural habitat, which she uses as models on her birding tours around the world. Since 1981, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin has held regular exhibitions of Senechal Faust. At the 24th Birds-in-Art exhibition in 1999, twelve graphics created between 1977 and 1999 were presented and she was the first graphic artist and the first woman to be awarded the "Master Wildlife Artist". From January to May 2014, the Massachusetts Audubon Society 's Museum of American Bird Art held the exhibition A Life List in Silkstreen: The Art of Anne S. Faust. Senechal Faust has been married to wildlife photographer Jacob Faust since 1979 and lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
