Annie is a multimedia artist hailing from New Canaan, Connecticut. She holds a BFA in drawing and painting from the School of Visual Arts and is best known for her self-taught paper stop-motion animations, which are highly labor intensive. Her film "Runaway Bathtub" is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), where it won the "Audience Choice" award. Her other films have gone on to win "Best Animation" recognition at multiple venues. Annie's work, which has been presented in six solo exhibitions, swings from whimsical to dark, reflecting her Bipolar and Schizoaffective diagnoses. The work often draws upon the games she played with her twin as a child; religion; and her constant search for hope amid distress. Annie has worked with the National Gallery of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the New Museum, Cornell University, Pfizer, Nickelodeon, PBS and CBS, among others. Her work is held in collections including those of the Museum of Modern Art, the Glen and Marcia Nelson Collection, the Brigham Young University Museum of Art, the Harold B Lee Archives, the Church History Museum, the Chris and Janae Baird Collection, and the Richard and Claudia Bushman Collection. Annie cites the drawings of Shel Silverstein, Quentin Blake, and John Lennon as primary influences.
