About the Artist: Born in Budapest, Hungary, Agnes studied fine art in Europe (Desi Huber School of Arts and Academy of Fine Art, Budapest), in Canada (Sir George Williams University, School of Arts, Montreal), Art Students’ League of New York, NY and in 1971 earned a Fine Art Degree (Summa Cum Laude) at NYU, New Patz."Since graduating I have worked as a professional artist and designer. My career has been divided between painting, designing textiles for the home furnishing industry and interior design.""From 1973 until 1986 I had a freelance design studio for textiles and wallpaper (Agnes Preston, Inc) in New York City, designing for companies including: Schumacher, Brunschwig & Fils, Lee Jofa, Stroheim, Kravet, Spectrum among others." "After moving to Greensboro, NC in 1986, I spent a decade pursuing my art. I had several solo shows and participated in numerous group exhibits in local and regional galleries, as well as in other states, Canada and Hungary. A few of those venues were: Green Hill Center for NC Art; Weatherspoon Art Museum, NC; Elliott University Center Art Gallery at UNCG, Durham Art Guild, NC; Knoxville Museum of Art, TN; Ann Leonard Gallery, NY; Gallery 200 Columbus, OH; University of Georgia, Atlanta; Budapest Galeria, HU.""In 1996 I established an interior design firm, Metamorphosis Design LLC, which is still active. Concurrently, from 2000 until 2009 I was creative director of Golding Fabrics, High Point, NC. For both business and pleasure, I have traveled extensively in the US, Asia and Europe. For the last several years I have been concentrating on my art, painting. I have participated in numerous solo and group exhibits.
