Ben Bounassif is a Venezuelan artist of Lebanese origin whose geometric and conceptual work bridges Latin American aesthetics with contemporary formalism. He graduated with a B.A. in Business Management from Tennessee Tech University in 1987, but his creative journey took a definitive turn in 2006 when he co-founded Leiter Gallery in Miami. There, he worked alongside Cuban-born artist Sinuhe Vega Leiter and Venezuelan journalist Jesús Rojas Torres, launching exhibitions and immersing himself in the dynamic Miami art scene. Bounassif debuted as an artist in Photo Miami ’07 with Hardcore Contemporary Art in Wynwood, and his early series Piece of Love was shown by art dealer Harvey Oxenberg at the Bridge Art Fair ’08 during Art Basel Miami. In 2011, his acrylic digital-cut series reached international audiences at the American Pavilion, Shanghai Art Fair, in collaboration with gallerist Aldo Castillo. Two years later, Castillo presented his work in a dedicated solo installation at ArtSpot at Spectrum Miami Art Fair ’13. In Venezuela, Bounassif’s geometric works have garnered strong interest, particularly at FIA (Feria Iberoamericana de Arte) ’13 and ’14, where he exhibited with Galería Parenthesis. His pieces were sold even before the fairs officially opened, affirming his growing collector base. His work is frequently featured in charity auctions and nonprofit fundraisers, consistently attracting competitive bids.Abounassif has been featured online since 2007 via Eclectic Network and more recently in print media including Hábitat Plus Florida and Ocean Drive Magazine Venezuela. His distinct visual language continues to evolve through experimentation with acrylics, geometric abstraction, and digital intervention.
