Ben Eine has built an exuberant street art practice around intricate, colorful typography. The artist developed his style and varied letterforms throughout years of tagging the streets of his native London. Over the decades, he has executed projects called “Alphabet Street” and “Alphabet City 2.0,” adorning shop shutters in the city’s East End with one letter each. In other murals, Eine has composed full words such as “exciting” or “scary.” While Eine largely focuses on public artworks, he has exhibited in New York, London, and Los Angeles, among other cities, and his work belongs in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. He has also collaborated on a temporary public art project with Berlin’s Urban Nation Street Art Museum. In 2018, Eine started the fashion brand Eine London.
