“I believe as an artist it is my duty to allow my inspiration to lead me. I do portraiture because it helps me understand where I fit in and I realize we all have experienced the same ups and downs. We are all the same. My cityscapes further this connection through spatial relationships. I’ve always been an introvert and the one way I know I can communicate is through my art. It opens up conversation which leads to inspiration. I am always absorbing the world around me. Nothing is out of bounds. Who am I as an artist? I am a reflection of everything because I am inspired by everything.”Bowen Kline is a Southfield native with a national reputation as one of the country's finest artists.
