Brandon Boyd was born in Los Angeles, California, and has maintained a parallel practice in visual art since childhood. While widely recognized as the vocalist and frontman of the band Incubus, Boyd’s work as a painter and draftsman has developed independently, rooted in drawing, mark making, and layered abstraction. His visual language often centers on intersecting lines, shifting planes, and imagined topographies, reflecting an ongoing interest in perception, movement, and interior space. Working primarily in painting and mixed media, Boyd approaches image making as an exploratory process rather than narrative illustration. In addition to exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Boyd is the author of three books that combine visual art, photography, and writing. His practice continues to evolve across disciplines, with each body of work contributing to a broader investigation of form, intuition, and creative continuity.
