Brenda Gadow is a contemporary painter based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Her work explores the interplay between natural forms, memory, and presence, often drawing inspiration from her family’s orchard and her husband’s maritime career. Through layered surfaces, contrasting gloss textures, and dynamic mark-making, Brenda creates paintings that balance realism with abstraction, inviting viewers to experience both the immediacy of nature and its deeper symbolic resonance. Her recent series, Orchard, is rooted in the practice of pruning apple trees, using the tangled energy of branches as a metaphor for resilience, growth, and the beauty that emerges from necessary disruption. She also explores spiritual and elemental themes in her ongoing body of work, Spoken Into Form, which uses transparent liquid pigments and resin to capture the feeling of creation, breath, and transformation. Brenda’s paintings have been exhibited regionally, including shows in Gettysburg, Easton, and Bethlehem, with one of her large-scale works receiving Best Landscape Award at the 2025 Adams County Art Council. Her work has been acquired by first-time and seasoned collectors, and corporate clients. She has won award at various Lehigh Art Alliance shows, and has exhibited work at Gallery840 in Allentown and Midnight Gallery, Schnecksville. In 2025, Brenda opened Broad & Belvidere Contemporary Art, her own gallery and studio space in Nazareth, PA, dedicated to presenting contemporary realism and regional voices in a New York-style setting. When not in the studio or gallery, Brenda can often be found journaling, reading, or spending time with her husband and two children.
