Brian Hibbard graduated from Winthrop University with a BFA in Fine Arts. After a few years traveling in the United States, Brian and his wife Kayli settled in Greensboro, N.C. to be close to family. He began working with the internationally known sculptor, Jim Gallucci and also began compiling his own art portfolio. Hibbard began painting portraits and working with clients on residential murals. When he is not working on commissions, Hibbard spends much of his time on his own contemporary paintings. Hibbard has received recognition for his work from newspaper publications in Greensboro, Black Mountain and Asheville, North Carolina. His portrait and mural work were featured in the March 2004 issue of Southern Living magazine (page 20, Carolina Living section). Hibbard's contemporary paintings have received numerous awards including two "First Place" awards and a "One Man Show" award. The artist is now branching out into the public arts with the 12 1/2 x 55 foot mural at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.
