Brooke Gillon is a mother and self-taught artist working with clay as a way of connecting to the land and her ancestors and of honoring the magic in the mundane. She creates functional and ritual stoneware pottery to serve as objects that both celebrate life and transmute grief. Brooke lives with her son and two cats amongst unkempt gardens in the Nashville basin of Middle Tennessee. Her work as a potter and community educator is rooted in the ancient practice of art-making as devotion.
