Bucky Bowles is a full-time artist who grew up camping, hunting and fishing in southwest Georgia. He was exposed to the beauty of nature and the challenges of the sporting life as a young boy. As a lifelong outdoorsman, his favorite painting subjects are sporting art and wildlife landscapes. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a BFA in graphic design, Bowles began his career as a staff artist at Royal Crown Cola Co., Columbus, Georgia. He later became an Art director for an Atlanta Advertising and Design Agency and then became Creative Director for Litho-Krome Company, a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Inc. While at Litho-Krome, he served in a variety of management and sales positions, including their Limited Edition Art Print division that produced fine art prints for national and international art publishers, before leaving the company in October 2000 to devote more time to his art. In the early 1990s, Bowles painted historical areas and scenes of Columbus, Georgia. Commissioned paintings soon were taking more of his time, and he began producing limited edition prints of some of his work. His paintings continue to reflect his love and appreciation of nature and outdoor life and his many hunting and fishing experiences. He paints a number of plantation hunting scenes and sporting commissions each year, and his work is collected by many who enjoy the special touch he adds to each painting. He is honored to have his works hang in some of the finest homes, offices, and plantations in our country.
