BRONZE ILLINOIS, USA Jim Budish, originally from Colorado, studied sculpture at the Art Students League of Denver and the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts. After initially pursuing a career in real estate development to support his family, Budish returned to his passion of sculpture in his 40s. His artistic focus shifted from representational animal sculptures to capturing their distinct attitudes and personalities, aiming to convey their unique movements and emotions. Budish strives to embody the "Joie de Vivre" he believes resides within all individuals. Since 2000, his sculptures have garnered acclaim, earning Best of Show, Best of Sculpture, or 2nd place Sculpture honors at 16 nationally recognized exhibitions. His work is prominently displayed in public and monumental installations across the United States and Europe, enriching numerous parks nationwide. Currently residing in Highland Park, IL, near Chicago, Jim Budish continues to create in his nearby studio.
