My grandfather was a talented artist and home designer, and my mother was an excellent painter. Growing up around artists and the art they produced and collected led me to search for what my artistic talent might be. I took pottery in college – wheel throwing and hand building – but went on to finish with a degree in Horticulture and worked as a floral designer for years. I took a few pottery classes through the years and as I neared retirement, I decided I would commit myself to practicing pottery. I have come to realize that pottery is a medium with endless opportunities for artistic expression. I plan to continue to express myself through creations in clay for as I am able.
