I am a mixed-media artist exploring the dialogue between humanity and the natural world—how we alter it, depend on it, and find our place within it. My work reflects a fascination with the quiet rhythms that shape our surroundings: the layering of rock, the pull of tides, the shifting light across the horizon. Through my art, I aim to reawaken a sense of wonder and encourage a more reciprocal relationship with the earth. Sustainability is central to both my materials and my message. I work with hand-painted collage papers, reclaimed fibers, natural pigments, wax, and found organic textures. Each piece becomes a small ecosystem—an interplay of renewal and decay, tension and balance. By combining traditional and upcycled materials, I hope to remind viewers that beauty and meaning can emerge from what is often overlooked or discarded. My process is slow and intuitive. I build layers of color and texture, then scrape back to reveal traces of what came before. This act of uncovering mirrors the erosion and regeneration found in nature. Painting, for me, is a form of listening—to the rhythm of the brush, the grain of the paper, the subtle conversation between texture and light. Now based on the coast of Maine, I draw daily inspiration from the landscape around me—the mist rising over tidal flats, the bark of spruce, the colors of dawn and dusk. These elements shape both my palette and my pace. Ultimately, I see my art as an invitation: to slow down, look closely, and rediscover our place within the living world. Creativity, like ecology, depends on cycles of renewal and connection—and each painting is my way of honoring that shared, ongoing act of balance.
