CASIMIRO PEREZ Casimiro was born in 1959 in Alcoy, Spain, where he lives and works today. He began his studies at the Beaux-Arts School in Alcoy, then moved to Valencia to deepen his visual arts training. Formerly a classical painter, he then decided to leave his seascapes and rural landscapes behind to undertake something totally new and to breathe more freshness into his artistic production. With a more contemporary and sometimes even surreal style, Casimiro creates more textured and playful scenes. The aerial views he depicts are dotted with tiny figures, sometimes in a naive context and sometimes in situations that question the state of society and human behavior. The use of molding paste recreates a 3D dimension that makes his pieces so extraordinarily different. His candy-coloured cupcake-shaped parasols and the blue of his seas invite us to set sail, to stroll the warm sand of Brazilian or Mediterranean beaches. His skiers and snow-capped mountains take us back to our first descents and the joys of winter when the first snowflakes finally appear.Casimiro participated in several exhibitions around the world and his work is included in several public and private collections. He is currently exhibiting in England, the United States and Canada.
