Cat Balco (b. 1975) is an American painter whose work engages abstraction through color, pattern, and spatial tension. Her paintings are built through intuitive processes that balance structure and improvisation, producing compositions that feel both deliberate and open-ended. Balco received her MFA from the Yale School of Art and her BA from Yale University, where her work was recognized with multiple awards. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, including at Rick Wester Fine Art, Five Points Gallery, Hollis Taggart, and Weidner Gallery at Trinity College. Balco has received numerous grants and fellowships, including support from the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, and the Berkshire Taconic Artists Resource Trust. Her work is held in public and private collections nationwide. Balco lives and works in Connecticut.
