Based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Catherine E Inglis is a distinguished professional artist working from her studio in Skirpenbeck, near York. While she captures a wide variety of subjects, Catherine specialises in portraiture—specifically pet and animal studies—and works predominantly in soft pastels. Catherine’s talent has been recognised on a national level. In 2005, she was elected to full membership of the Society of Women Artists (SWA). Her work has garnered significant acclaim at the Society’s exhibitions held at the Mall Galleries in London; notably, she won both The Frank Herring & Son Award and Jackson’s People’s Choice Award during the SWA’s celebratory 150th exhibition in 2011, followed by the prestigious Winsor & Newton Fine Art Award in 2014. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the UK in both joint and solo exhibitions, including appearances at the Westminster Gallery and the Kennel Club Gallery in London. Beyond her own practice, Catherine is a dedicated educator and active member of the art community. She is a founder member of East Riding Artists (ERA), the current President of Driffield Art Club, and a Professional Associate of the SAA. Catherine shares her expertise as a workshop tutor and an online video demonstrator for ArtTutor.com. She is also proud to serve as an Associate Artist for Unison Colour Pastels.
