Cecilia Biagini (b. 1967, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist based in Brooklyn, New York, whose practice spans painting, sculpture, photography, and sound. Her work arises from an abstract visual language in which geometric form, line, and color interact rhythmically, reflecting influences from Latin American abstraction and an intuitive, poetic conception of space. Biagini studied painting under Guillermo Kuitca in Buenos Aires and attended the University for Sociology before relocating to New York in 1998, where she cofounded the Brooklyn exhibition space The Hogar Collection.Biagini’s work has been exhibited internationally in gallery and museum contexts, including solo exhibitions at Ruiz Healy Art in San Antonio and New York, Pentimenti Gallery in Philadelphia, and recent installations such as Living Organism at the AC Institute in New York. Her work has also been included in group shows at venues such as El Museo del Barrio in New York, MACBA – Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires, and the Rupert Ravens Contemporary in New Jersey. Her accolades include the Photography Critics Award from the Centro de Arte y Comunicación (CAYC) in Buenos Aires early in her career, and she has received scholarships and recognition throughout her development as an artist. Biagini was selected by the New York City Percent for Art Program in 2017 for a permanent public art commission at the Nuyorican Poets Café in New York.Biagini’s work is held in important public and corporate collections, including the MACBA Museum Collection in Buenos Aires, The New York Public Library, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C. Her pieces explore rhythm, balance, and movement through abstraction, offering a visual experience that bridges intellectual rigor with poetic resonance.
