BIOGRAPHY Having lived in various areas of Eastern Ontario, and recently settling in Goobies, NL. Chris has incorporated many of the traditional scenes of nature into his paintings. Chris is a self taught artist, painting for over 20 years. While living in the Avalon region of Newfoundland previously, he was inspired to paint the ocean, wharfs and rural life as well as the wilderness. In Newfoundland his art is displayed at Art Cansel, and is available through Bartlett Auction. He has donated work to help raise funds for the Health Care Foundation of St. John’s Monte Carlo Fundraiser. In Ontario he was a member of The Artisans, Portland Connection, and was a featured Artist in The Humm Arts and Entertainment Magazine, August 2021 edition. He has also been featured in the Review Mirror Westport, On. and had his work displayed at Streve Designs Gallery. Oil is my favourite medium. My style is Impressionist. The vibrancy of colour with oils allows me to boldly capture the beautiful landscapes of Newfoundland onto gallery wrapped canvas. I try to capture the atmosphere on my canvas. I am also a steel artist, using cold rolled steel, welding and plasma cutting, to develop a 3 dimensional effect. To bring out the colours in the steel, I paint with fire.
