Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Collin Parson is an arts administrator, curator, educator, and artist with twenty years of art leadership experience. He currently serves as the Director of Galleries and Curator at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. In this role, he is dedicated to amplifying the voices of contemporary Colorado artists and fostering a vibrant dialogue within the state’s creative community. Parson is a former member of the historic Pirate: Contemporary Art cooperative and a past artist-in-residence at RedLine Denver. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Design and Technology, with an emphasis in Lighting and Scene Design, from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Master of Arts in Visual Culture and Arts Administration from Regis University. His artistic practice explores the interplay of light, color, and geometry to create immersive light-and-space works. In addition to his studio work, Parson has juried numerous exhibitions and arts festivals, earning recognition for both his curatorial vision and creative projects. In 2013, he was named one of Westword’s 100 Colorado Creatives, and his work has been featured in a wide range of print and television media. The son of renowned Colorado sculptor Charles Parson, Collin grew up surrounded by a family of artists whose influence shaped his creative journey. Today, he continues that legacy by advancing both the educational and artistic traditions that have defined his life.
