Cynthia Packard is a Provincetown artist with a deep pedigree: achievements and influence in the arts have prevailed for three generations in her family. Born in 1957, Packard studied sculpture and art at Massachusetts College of Art. She moved to Provincetown in 1981 and continued her art education with Fritz Bultman. She has given instruction at the Fine Arts Work Center, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, and Castle Hill School of the Arts in Truro, Massachusetts. Her deep and studied appreciation for geometry and the artistic line distinguish her still lifes and abstract paintings, while her dynamic understanding of gestures inform her compelling paintings of figures. Packard continues to live in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where she teaches painting and drawing, and creates tirelessly.
