Drawing inspiration from the depths of the psychedelic experience and the mysteries of the natural world, I delve into the realms of perception where beauty and repulsion coexist in a delicate balance. By manipulating materials such as polyurethane foam, hot glue, resin, and silicone, I create sculptures that challenge conventional notions of aesthetic appeal, inviting viewers to confront their preconceptions and biases. My sculptures often mirror the lush abundance of the natural world with their vibrant colors and intricate textures. Yet, beneath this surface beauty, a subtle undercurrent of unease, a sense of the uncanny, lurks. This tension between attraction and aversion is the true essence of my work, challenging viewers to confront their perceptions of beauty and ugliness, as well as acceptance and rejection. Ultimately, my goal as an artist is not to provide answers but to pose questions to challenge viewers to confront the contradictions inherent in the world around them. Through my work, I hope to spark conversations and connections that transcend the limitations of language and ideology, fostering a deeper understanding of the rich tapestry of the human experience intertwined with the wonders of the natural world, all while embracing the spirit of play and experimentation.
