Daniel Rodríguez Collazo is a cuban painter and multidisciplinary visual artist whose work navigates the intersection of urban architecture and human presence. A graduate of the Eduardo Abela Academy of Visual Arts in Havana, with a specialization in engraving, Collazo applies techniques from engraving, drawing, painting and carving in drywall to rethink the structures of the built environment. His works—often inspired by his native Havana’s cityscape—balance photorealistic precision with surreal interpretations: walls become landscapes, lines become stories of movement, and space itself seems to breathe with human vitality.Collazo’s work has been shown internationally, including solo exhibitions such as Ciudades (Camiba Gallery, Austin TX, 2021) and Ciudades Invisibles (Galiano Gallery, Havana, 2018), and group exhibitions at fairs and galleries in Germany, Italy, Peru, Spain, and the U.S.Today based in Havana, Collazo continues to develop his “Resonancias” and “Ciudades Infinitas” series—works that invite viewers to contemplate place, memory and the possibility of transformation in architectural form.
