Dawn L. Stringer is a self-taught Abstract Expressionist. Her work is influenced by Gerhard Richter, Jack Whitten, Norman Lewis and heavily inspired by her spiritual faith, music, and Pop culture. Dawn describes her work as, “beautifully organized chaos”.She encourages the viewer to get lost within her work and to create their own interpretation based upon what they see and most importantly what they feel. Through her pulling and scraping technique, she creates powerful strokes, depth, texture and layers. Dawn’s award- winning piece “Love Supreme” was selected as part of the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Competition in Miami Florida in 2017. Dawn has exhibited and shown throughout the country including: The Detroit Historical Museum, Morristown NJ Museum, Monmouth Museum, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Rush Arts Philadelphia, Art Expo NY, and Scope Miami.
