Duvier del Dago Fernández is a Cuban visual artist whose inventive work blurs boundaries between installation, drawing, and conceptual form. Known for his thoughtful interplay of materiality and gesture—often using thread, wire, or translucent surfaces—his pieces invite viewers into suspended states of thinking and seeing. Educated at the Provincial School of Arts in Trinidad (1995) and later at the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Havana (2001), del Dago emerged as a key figure in Cuba’s contemporary art scene. He was a member of the project-driven gallery DUPP and represented Cuban thought in major exhibitions including the VII Havana Biennial, where his work received the UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of the Arts. Del Dago has shown internationally in galleries and museums across Europe, Latin America and the U.S., and his work is held in prominent collections including the Museum of Contemporary Art Kunstlaboratorium (Vestfossen, Norway), the Museo Rufino Tamayo (Mexico City), and the Jumex Collection (Mexico) among others. Today, del Dago continues to live and work in Cuba, developing research-based installations and drawings that engage with memory, perception and the poetic dimension of everyday materials.
