Ellen Rolli is a celebrated contemporary American painter known for her vibrant, textural, and intuitive paintings on canvas and paper that explore form, emotion, and color through abstract and contemporary still-life compositions. Based in Melrose, Massachusetts, Rolli’s work embodies a bold interplay of color, texture, and expressive mark-making that resonates with collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts across the United States and abroad. A Massachusetts College of Art graduate with a major in Art Education and a minor in Painting, Ellen has dedicated more than three decades to the evolution of her distinctive artistic voice. Her early experiences in plein air and figure painting informed her transition to abstraction, and her ongoing Vessel & Floral series has become widely recognized for its emotional depth and visual impact. Ellen was awarded a prestigious month-long artist residency at the historic Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, an honor that profoundly influenced her studio practice and artistic development. She has presented her work in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including multiple solo shows in Boston, and her paintings are represented in private and corporate collections nationally and internationally. Ellen is also an active contributor to local arts communities, having served on the committee for Melrose’s annual Open Studios Tour and regularly hosting exhibitions and workshops.
