Eric Wieringa (b. 1979, Grand Rapids, MI) is an award-winning American painter whose meticulous realism is imbued with a strong narrative sensibility. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Painting and Illustration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2003. After several years supporting his studio practice through a range of professional pursuits, he entered the MFA program at the University of Hartford and completed his degree in 2011. Following a successful tenure teaching in higher education, Wieringa returned to Hastings, Michigan, where he now runs a full-time studio and enjoys spending time with his three daughters. His work has been featured in American Illustration, Poets & Artists Magazine, and Creative Quarterly, and is held in galleries and private collections throughout the United States.
