For Erin O’Connor, plein air painting is a central part of her artistic practice. Being within the landscape allows her to form a direct connection with her subject, collecting essential lines and clear color that define her work. Her approach is rooted in traditional oil painting, but her compositions often carry a graphic clarity that bridges classical technique with a contemporary visual rhythm.O’Connor believes that every element of the landscape tells a story. Trees, open expanses, and shifting mountain forms all reflect forces and histories that shape the land. Painting on location allows her to record more than a single moment.
